The AM54 is a typical NMBS multiple unit. These trains were produced as a ‘classic railtrain’ in Belgium.
About 500 pcs of these AM multiple units runned between 1939 and 1970.
15 models of the serie AM 54 are transformed in 1988 into post-trains for the Belgium Post.
In the 90s most of these trains were scrapped.
Some of them recieved a second life at some local railwaycompanies in Italy.
